Our vehicle hire services are available nationwide, covering Northern Ireland, ROI, England, Scotland, and Wales. We can also cover Europe on special request. Star Car Hire can arrange for most cars to be available for events throughout Ireland and the UK however transportation costs will be taken into account.
Q: How do I book a vehicle?

Q: Can I drive the cars listed on Star Car Hire?
A: No, all the cars on Star Car Hire are chauffeur driven unless stated otherwise

Q: Are the doors welded shut on the General Lee?
A: No!

A: No, the cars featured on Star Car Hire are high quality replicas unless stated otherwise.
Q: Can I drink alcohol or smoke in any of the Star Cars?
A: No, alcohol must not be consumed in any of the cars except for occasional glass of champagne at weddings. All cars are also non-smoking.

Registering your vehicle with Star Car Hire
Q: Can I list my vehicle with Star Car Hire for TV & Film Work, Weddings & Events?
A: Yes, we're always looking for new and exciting vehicles to add to our collection.
Q: Does it cost to register my vehicle with Star Car Hire?
A: NO: Listing your vehicle is FREE and you can register here.
Q:What kind of fees can I expect from hiring out my vehicle?
A: Fees vary depending on the nature of the job, location, time required, and vehicle specifics. We will try and guide you on pricing during the registration process. Once registered, the website will calculate and suggest prices based on time, mileage and your chosen baseline pricing.
Q: When will my vehicle be listed on the Star Car Hire website?
A: We try and approve vehicles within a few days depending on how busy we are.
Q: Do you accept every submitted vehicle onto your platform?
A: Although all vehicles are generally stored in our database we DO NOT list all vehicles on the website.
Q: How can I submit changes to my vehicle listing?

Q: What Insurance do I need?
A: Vehicle owners must ensure their vehicles are fully taxed, MOT’d, licensed and insured for each event. If you plan to make your vehicle available for wedding hire you must add the appropriate hire and reward cover. This is often available as an insurance bolt-on with most classic and specialist car policies. With TV & Film work quite often the production company will have insurance in place to cover your vehicle but each job is different and will have different requirements. Always check insurance requirements before accepting any job. Star Car Hire is not responsible for insuring your vehicle and is not liable for any damage or accidents caused whatsoever.
Q: What is my role as a vehicle owner?
A: Vehicle owners are responsible for looking after their own vehicle(s) during any event and making sure that they arrive at the agreed place on time. Vehicles must be clean and well presented and drivers must be polite and as helpful as possible to clients.
Q: What if my vehicle breaks down on a job?
A: If a vehicle breaks down on the way to an event it is your responsibility to notify the client and Star Car Hire immediately so that we can endeavour to make alternative arrangements. Always try and have a plan B in place in case whether it be recovery or another vehicle.
Q: How do I cancel a booking?
A: We understand that situations may arise where a booking may need to be cancelled by the vehicle owner. To ensure a smooth experience for the customer and avoid any inconvenience, please follow the steps here if you need to cancel a booking:
Q: What is Star Car Hire’s Role?
A: Star Car Hire provide the platform to make the booking process as easy as possible. We are also here for support and advice where needed. We will do our best to promote your vehicle(s) online and source paid work. We may also at times assist in making arrangements for events however we accept no responsibility for any damage caused to a vehicle during an event.
Q: Who will drive my vehicle?
A: Star Car Hire do not usually hire out vehicles for self-drive therefore the owner or person responsible for the vehicle would normally be responsible for driving. Sometimes in the case of TV and film work an actor or stunt driver may be required to drive however we would normally ask the client to provide insurance.
Q: What kind of Photographs do you need to register:
A: All pictures submitted to Star Car Hire must be free from copyright. Star Car Hire will not be held responsible for listing any images which have not been cleared of copyright. Some photo tips…
- Ideally 1200 x 900 pixels in size an 72dpi resolution (If you need to resize an image there are free applications to download on the net. Your camera software or art packages should also have resizing features)
- No larger than 1MB in size
- Landscape images only! Portrait images will not be accepted.
- Include interior shots
NOTE: Good photographs are essential in getting your vehicle noticed. If photographs are poor quality they may not be shown on our site. Try and take tight shots filling the frame with your vehicle. Include images from all angles and include both interior and exterior shots. You can upload up to 8 images so take some time and choose your favourites. Remember, good pictures will help promote your vehicle to clients so take your vehicle somewhere nice on a bright sunny day and shoot until your heart is content.
